Factory Snap-On COCKPIT COVER with Adjustable Aluminum Support Pole(s) and reinforced Snap(s) for Pole alignment in Center of Cover on Larger Cockpit-Covers, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in Sunbrella® marine fabric, produced with the same high quality, original 2007-2012 digitized patterns approved by Chaparral® for the 280 Signature Radar Arch: 280 Signature With canvas connected To the factory installed Radar Arch:
  • Notes:
    • 2007-2012 Chaparral® 280 Signature Radar Arch Model Specific Details: The forward Bimini Top has Keder Welt which slides into a Track on the Front of Arch (no Connection Zipper Strip). The aft Camper Top zips to an Arch Connection Strip which has Keder Welt that slides into Track on Back of Arch. The front Connector has 3 panels that zip together. Chaparral® originally offered the 2007-2012 280 Signature Radar Arch in Black, Mediterranean Blue Tweed, Marine Blue (2008), Linen Tweed (Chaparral called this Beige), Taupe (2008+, no longer available, replaced by similar Linen), Burgundy (2006-2007) or Dubonnet Tweed (2008) Sunbrella® with SeaMark® (vinyl lined, waterproof Sunbrella) tops fabric.
    • Product Details: Snaps tightly over Cockpit Area ONLY (not the Bow area) of boat. Cockpit-Cover has 30 to 80 standard 3/8" snaps, depending on the boat. Stainless steel Canvas-Snaps are included but not installed in the cover. Includes Male Snap-Stud-Screws. Premium (extra cost) Sunbrella colors are: Jockey Red, Yellow, Logo Red, Burgundy, and Orange.
    • Chaparral® Factory Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Notes: TAGSA laser-engraved, Black Rubber Tag and a White Canvas Tag are sewn into every Ameritex® (we no longer make Taylor-Made®) original-equipment canvas or cover (a laser printed sticker is on each frame), so we need the P/N (Part Number) and DT date code from the Black Tag (or sticker). Zippers on OEM Chaparral® canvas are size #8 (6 teeth/inch). Most (NOT All) Boot-Covers have Black or White embroidered Chaparral® logo. Most (NOT All) Chaparral® Bimini and Camper Tops have zippered frame (bow) pockets for easy installation. Chaparral® installed the snaps in the boats, canvas and covers at their factory, so we cannot install the canvas snaps for you because we do not have locations (see Canvas/Snap Installation to learn about installing snaps). We can only sell canvas and covers direct for Chaparral® boats over 2 years old. OEM canvas part number scheme: Ameritex® or Taylor-Made® tags where [xxx] identifies the canvas piece and [ccc] is the color code. Chaparral® HIN = FGBsssssmbyy , where [yy] = model year.

    2. Only fits Factory-Original Windshield, Arch/Tower (if so equipped) setups.
    3. Snaps included but NOT installed in canvas, so a Snap Installation Tool is required.
    4. Made per Factory-Original specification (many Cockpit-Covers do NOT offer special Cut-Outs).
    5. Many (NOT ALL) Cockpit-Covers have Cutouts for the Top Frames to pass through.
    6. Check the 2007-2012 Chaparral® 280 Signature Radar Arch Model-Specific-Information abovefor any other size/fit notes and zipper size.
    7. Does NOT fit Chaparral® 280 Signature Radar Arch prior to 2007.

    • Will perform as described when installed properly.

  • 12-digit HIN: (required)
    • Your 12-digit Hull-Identification-Number (HIN) (FGBsssssmbyy) is embossed on the starboard side of your transom, below the rub rail, and the HIN should also be on your registration papers (verify it with the official HIN on your transom) and may also be on your insurance documents,
    • The HIN is required to verify the boat manufacturer (first 3-digits) and determine date of manufacturer (last 4-digits) to determine the correct revision of the Cockpit Cover (Factory OEM),
    • Unfortunately, the HIN does NOT tell us what model the boat is, what options the boat has or what color canvas it originally came with, so we must rely on you to select the boat, options and color from our web site.
