1974-1989 Boston Whaler® Montauk 17 Model Specific Details: 1974-1989 Boston Whaler® Montauk 17 center console (Cohasset in 1973). The 1973-2000 Montauk 17 windshield grab rail is about 47-1/2 inches high: the new (2020 model) Montauk-T-Topless™ (MT2™) provides 6-foot 3-inch clearance. When lowered, the Montauk-T-Topless-2™ will clear the original 86 quart Igloo® cooler with cushion (used through 1989) and the new 94 quart Igloo® cooler with cushion (which is 2-inches taller than the original 86 quart cooler), as well as the standard bow rails (it will be just below the bow rail height, so a standard boat cover can be used, and the boat fits in the garage on a trailer). The Montauk-T-Topless-2™ can be mounted lower (will not clear front cooler if mounted too low). The Montauk-T-Topless-2™ can also be mounted with the bent rear legs upside down to the front or back of the Reversible Pilot Seat (RPS) if desired.
